Taking aim on the bowling green symbolised targeting goals for 2026 when players from the construction sector got together this summer.
The CARTERS-sponsored Building Institute Aotearoa annual lawn bowls events around the country once again proved a great way to start the year off right by getting together over some friendly competition in the setting summer sun. These evening events are held to help the industry stay connected and share some in-person camaraderie, much welcomed in our hyper online world.
First run in Auckland in 2022, these bowls events have since grown with a series of several iterations now being held around the country. This year, the series spread through Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, Queenstown and Tauranga, with a total of 108 teams taking part. With four players per team, this meant the events this year attracted 432 players.
Following the fun on the lawn, a fishing competition was next up for BIA members, with dozens taking to the waters around Gulf Harbour on Monday 20 April for a day of competition of the fish catching kind.
