LBP Skills Maintenance

As a Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP), you’ll know it’s essential to stay up to date with industry changes, and any new rules, regulations and developments that affect your business. We’re committed to helping you meet your points requirements.

Trade Events

Attending CARTERS’ trade events will help you gain product and technical knowledge from key industry suppliers – check out our events calendar here.

If you’re considering becoming licenced, you’re still welcome to come along to the events but you must currently hold your licence to gain the LBP points from attending.

Trade Leader

CARTERS make it easy to keep up to date. Each month Trade Leader website features new codewords articles, educational content and news you can browse online anytime.

Reading Trade Leader can contribute to your LBP Skills Maintenance requirements. Every hour of educational learning is equal to 1 LBP point. Subscribe today.

BRANZ

BRANZ eLearning modules grow vital skills and help you maintain the standard required to keep your licence. Each self-paced, interactive learning module takes approximately 20 minutes and includes a self-assessment component.Gain 100% in the questions at the end of the module, and you'll receive a record that can be submitted as part of your LBP and CPD activity log.

Recording your points

To keep your license, you’ll need to complete and submit your records of learning every second year. We know it’s tough to keep up with paper work, so to make it easier you can use your CARTERS Trade Diary, or use MBIE’s skills maintenance form.

Find out more about the Skills Maintenance schedule by viewing the Guidance for Licensed Building Practitioners document.

As a consumer, getting an LBP to do the work is a great first step.  Find out more and check the LBP register here
