Bringing industry professionals together to learn and grow from discussing important issues affecting the Kiwi construction sector was the aim of Building Legends.

Building Legends – Managing Teams through Uncertainty & Complexity workshops were held in both Wellington and Auckland last spring, bringing industry professionals together to learn and grow.

Participants from across a range of specialities in the Kiwi construction sector heard from speakers Isaac Kett and Sharon Parackal (Frequency), Marissa Lorigan (INC Group), Hannah Horne (KiwiRail) and Mark Watson (Sophrosyne). A total of 32 individuals from 18 organisations took part in the October 15 session in Auckland, with 15 industry professionals from 11 organisations attending the session in Wellington on October 8.

In Auckland, participant Lynsey Hulme, Senior Consultant at Hatch Consulting was full of praise for the event.

“I really enjoyed the session in Auckland and left feeling really motivated after listening to all the speakers. They each brought something different to the table when speaking about their experiences of working in challenging times but in a very positive way."

She added, “It made me think that the construction industry will always have its peaks and troughs but it’s our attitude and how we work through and together during the uncertain and tough times is what people remember.”
