Building Legends is the aim of a series of workshops held by the NZ Institute of Building around Aotearoa, thanks to support from CARTERS Building Supplies.
Since July, the Building Legends events have been bringing tradies together with professionals across the construction sector for learnings on a range of relevant topics. Building Legends: Programme Management was held in July in Auckland and August in Christchurch, with Brigitte Knill (Triangle Fire Protection) facilitating these workshops, Karsten Thomsen (Brosnan) presented as the subject matter expert and Geoff Nash (Brosnan) shared a case study on Brosnan’s programme governance.
Next up, Building Legends: People Management was held in September in Auckland and 12 September in Wellington. Again, facilitated by Brigitte Knill (Triangle Fire Protection), with Pamela Bell (NZ Institute of Building), and Uli Johnston (Accent Management) as the subject matter expert. George Russell (Wilson Building & Commercial) discussed how people management was used in his award-winning project – the Samoa High Commission.
Following this, Building Legends: Procurement Management was held in October in Auckland and October in Christchurch. Speakers changed between the two locations including Natasha Possenniskie (Urban Outcomes), Raji Rai (TBIG), Nathan TeMiha (Iconiq group), Garyth Jones (NZ Strong), Alex Harris (Cost Consultants), Janine Branje (Hush Interiors).

Building Legends 2025
Six more Building Legends workshops are planned for this year, with a planning committee working to finalise dates and content.
