Know a Kiwi construction professional who’s acing it? The Building People Awards are a chance to celebrate them and their work.

Held annually by the recently renamed Building Institute Aotearoa (formerly the New Zealand Institute Of Building) the 2025 Building People Awards are a highlight on the construction calendar, honouring the best in the building industry in Aotearoa.
This year will mark the 32nd anniversary of the event, held since 1994. Evolving over time to reflect the changing times and business environment, new to the awards line up this year is the category of Site Manager of the Year. Among the 2024 winners were Nick Morris - Project Manager, LT McGuinness for the 44 Bowen project in Wellington, who took out the CARTERS $25-$50 Million Project Award.
Open to anyone in the building industry, entries are judged by a panel of senior construction practitioners. Convener of Judging of the Awards this year is Natasha Possenniskie - a passionate construction industry professional with extensive experience in New Zealand and overseas, spanning public and private sectors.
